Waikane Fruit Stand
Every drive around Oʻahu seems to hold an unexpected treasure, and this little roadside fruit stand in Waikāne was one of them. My husband and I stopped to ask the owner if I could photograph her stand to paint later. She smiled and thanked us for asking, saying others had painted it without permission. I promised to bring her a print. By the time I returned, she had passed away, and I instead gave the original painting to her daughter. This watercolor is a reminder that kindness matters, promises matter, and the simple places we pass each day often become the memories we treasure most.
